Anhinga Comes Alive Again
Two weeks and one day after we pulled Anhinga out of the water, she went back in; freshly painted in 5 layers of 2-part epoxy paints and 4 layers of anti-fouling. As she was being lifted into the crane, one of the Rivergate staff commented on the heart that we had painted on the keel. He said we should have painted fish! Apparently the really competitive game fishing boats paint fish on their hull to attract them. So, we used the last of our paint to quickly draw some little fishies. Maybe we'll have schools' of fish surrounding us now!
'Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.' Mark Twain
About Anima
Anima (previously called Anhinga) is a 40 foot steel cruising yacht.
She is a Colin Childs design Kingfisher 40 cutter rig sailing ketch built in 1983 by Max & Gloria Boag in New Zealand.
She has had two prior owners (including the builders) and has circumnavigated the world. She weighs 16 tonnes and is in good condition for her age. The interior is decked out with polished Rimu and is very comfy. She is our much loved home.
